Whether you decide to work as a bartender to make a living or just want to know how to make drinks for your own persona life, bartending skills are a great thing to learn. You never know when one of your guests is going to want a nice drink and at least now you will know how to do it. You don't have to go through an entire bartending course to learn the basic bartending skills.
One of the bartending basics is learning how to mix a screwdriver. This is one of the most popular drinks in the world, so chances are whether you work at a bar or are just serving for a few friends, at least one person is going to want one of these delicious drinks. To make it you simply mix vodka with orange juice. It takes a matter of seconds and you don't even need a mixer for this drink.
Another drink commonly made is a gin and tonic. This drink should only fill up a glass halfway. Mix the gin and tonic evenly together, with a touch more gin if they want it stronger.
Another of the bartending basics is to toss a bottle from one hand to another behind your back. The problem is you have to actually catch it. This can be a tricky one to manage. The best idea is to practice with some plastic bottles first. This way you can get the hang of the juggling technique first, before trying it out on real glass bottles. Then you would just be wasting not only the bottles but also the liquor inside of them if you broke them.
Once you have a bit more practice, you can feel more confident using your bartending skills and showing others what you've got. The more time you spend on this, the better you will get, just as with any other bartender. Even the best professional bartenders have to start somewhere.
Bartending can be a great way to make money and for the right person, it can be a rewarding and fulfilling career. Check Out http://rapid-bartender-review.com and Don't pay for an overpriced bartending school, until you've read it.

Learning How to Make Use of Bartender Mnemonics

A bartender needs to have a wonderful ability to make recall in order to be able to make cocktails from many different types of drinks and spirits. Use of the Drink Mnemonics Memory System helps him go about this task with ease. Remembering is a difficult activity when a bartender has many customers to take care of. You will find that there just is no time to search through the many cocktail recipe books and bartender guides that contain the information you are looking for. This forces an individual to learn the art of mnemonics. This is what makes the bartender enjoy doing his work. It is all about learning how to do new things in a new way.
Mnemonics makes it easy for the bartender to supply the bartender mix drinks according to the specifications of the order. Mnemonics make it less difficult to remember, even if there are many patrons screaming your name and making more and more orders. As a customer, all you need to do is order your drink and you realize that the bartender already has an idea on how the whole process works out.
The power of mnemonic devices is just amazing if you are able to go through bartenders training. The bar tender needs to only choose some characters and then memorize them. This can be done through making associations between the first letters of the drink and the components that go into making the cocktail. It’s amazing how this can be done without even putting much thought into it.
Memory is a very crucial to the bartender. The art of using mnemonics is all about knowing how to say all the names of bartender mix drinks by heart and then taking over from there when it comes to the mixing of bartender drinks. It is not a good idea for you to spend a lot of money and precious time going to a bartender school. There is not need for you have sacrifice so much of your time trying to imagine where a certain drink indicated in a certain bartender course is to be found.
You can take advantage of easier ways of using mnemonics which are fast and which can save much of your time and efforts. One well-known way of using mnemonics is by using easy-to-remember strings of words to make sentences. They say a lot in terms of the drink recipes and how best to perfect them.
You may choose to consider mnemonics as a memory assistant. It is on record in many studies that complex concepts are learned easily through making use of patterns of letters and word associations, as well as ideas. This knowledge has been used for many centuries to remember difficult concepts. The best bartender in town is the one who makes the best use out of mnemonics.
When learning mix drink training, you have to note that each mix drinks mnemonics sentence is used to refer only to a specific type of drink. This is what makes it very hard for you to make any mistakes on the drinks that you make.

The science behind the Drink Mnemonics Memory System has its roots deeply based in the practice of psychological conditioning. Mnemonics use repetitions and the development of easy-to-remember constructs. This makes it easier to recall memorized items. This is a very profitable bartending skill.

Essential Bartender Resume Tips To Land The Interview!

The point of the Bartender Resume is to get your foot in the door so you can get an interview at the establishment of choice. The problem is, sooo many potential bartenders (especially in this economic climate) are literally throwing their resumes at managers and they end up collecting dust in a big stack in the office. YOU need to differentiate yourself from the competition so you can WOW your manager and get the interview!
Creating your bartender resume needs to have a value and importance with each part. Basically, there are essential parts that you should fill in before submitting it to your employer.
The Objective
The objective may just be the first thing your hiring manager reads. Tell them exactly what position you are applying for and WHY. As a bartender, you need to have an objective which direct the needs of 1.)Customer(how you can serve them) 2.) Employer 3.) Yourself as a bartender.
Personal Information
Your personal information has great value within your bartender resume. You need to have the detailed and honest information about yourself. This may just be the magic ingredient that separates you from the competition. What makes you special or unique? WHY should the hiring manager choose you?
Experience
Collect your bartending experience in respective manner from the latest to the oldest job that you had. You don't have to list EVERY job you ever had, just the impressive and relevant ones. When listing your experiences from your previous job, make sure not to just put the date that you started and ended your job. Put some information of the companies development regarding your involvement. Describe and quantify your job description as much as possible. With these way, the bartender employer will see your worth and how you can be useful to his/her company.
Bartending Skills
There IS a difference between Experience and Skills. Skills can be obtained through experience. Include skills not just your physical attainment like alcoholic drinks mixing but also skills that matter about your inner self development. Counting money, working P.O.S. machines, dealing with customers, etc are ALL skills!

Functional verses chronological resume- Marketing Manager Seeking Position, Denver Metro, CO
I did what some say you shouldn't, I wrote a functional resume. I am told that it appears that you have something to hide when you approach a resume this way. Well, I don't have anything to hide but I do have lots to share. I want prospective employers to know exactly what some of my major accomplishments were while at the companies I worked for. I want them to see in that fabulous 30 second window, "What's in it for them." I think this is better accomplished with the functional resume.

4 Steps To A Powerful Bartender Resume

If you are looking for a job as a bartender, you may already know that many bartender resume fall straight into the trash can. Why does this happen? The only straight answer is the value of the resume. When you are serious about becoming a bartender, you will give value on everything you do, including crafting the perfect Bartender Resume.
There are many ways to make a bartender employer impressed with your resume and make it read. You have only one goal when creating your bartender resume:TO GET INTERVIEWED. Here are tips to help you get that interview:
The Resume Design and Template
You may want to make your bartender resume clean and simple right? But, do you feel you are unique from the others? They might do the same as you did, because plain and simple usually translates to more professional. If you give value to your bartender resume, give effort on creating some attractive design or colored print within you will see improvements. Use some bartending images like a wine glass on your heading. You need something to help your resume stick out and give that "WOW" factor. Don't believe me? With hundreds of resumes on a bar managers desk, he or she will stop and do a double take when there is a unique design factor on your page. The next thing you need to do is WOW them with content on your page.
Your Experience and Skills List
Your experience and skills are the most common thing your bartender employer will use to see how you could contribute to his/her company. With this being said, you need a proper strategy for effectively detailing your experience information. For starters, list only your most relevant experiences with bartending (or make irrelevant jobs RELEVANT!) And make sure not to use more than five resources. You don't need to have a lot of experiences and skills to become a bartender unless at least a basic wine or alcoholic drinks mixing and a good attitude. Why not include this on your Advanced Skills lists;"GLLA - Good Listening and Learning Attitude". Most bartender employer will look for people who have the right attitude for his/her establishment.
Engaged with your Bartender Accomplishments
When listing on your experiences on your bartender resume, use some highlighted accomplishments. Ask this question: "How was my previous employer/establishment improved as a result of MY involvement?" List a few like increase percentage of the sales and tips.
The Cover Letter
Are you including a Sales Letter? Use positive words within your cover letter. Don't try to put some negative things like what are your current situation and how much salary you need to help you out. Our goal is to get an interview! So we should write the best positive things in ourselves and accomplishments. You can simply adds up within your bartender cover letter a phrase like this ->"highly regarded mannered individual" and or something related that talks about good attitude.

The complete guide to being a bartender

Starting out in a industry that requires not only long working hours but a solid work ethics is a difficult task on its own. What if there was a guide to get you through your shift, smiling all the way to the bank? Bad news, there isn't but what I can tell you is that if you follow certain âguideâ rules you should be better off then the same man standing in the bar next to you.
Don't piss where you eat
My mother would tell me that and it wasn't until I reached a certain age that I understood. Being a bartender is difficult work and can affect your personal well being. Thatâs why as a rule one should never drink where they work. The rules here being if you wouldnât do it at home, donât do it at work. It may sound unfair but in the long run you should reap the benefits of this isolation policy when co-workers are being fired and every one still thinks youâre a saint.
Stay clean or stay away
It goes without saying that if your going to be working take the time to look after yourself. This implies shaving, keeping your hair tidy and at all times ensuring you just look well groomed. It will not only make you more approachable but will give off an amazing first impression one that will attract the customers who will in turn tip you better.
Work smart, not hard (except when you busy)
Keep a book with you so at all times and fill in the recipes used to make certain drinks. This way you should remember them better. Then when you don't, you have your book which should save you time and embarrassment when handling clients. When the bar does pick up and people are waiting in line don't forget to smile. Smiling will not only cool them down but pick your own mood up. That should make for a better evening for all concerned.
Drinking and driving isn't smart
I've heard the arguments a million times. There is no excuse for drinking behind the bar while you are serving clients. If a client buys you a drink ring it up and have your drinks when the bar is closed. A drunk bartender costs money, which in turn makes them bad. You may not have as much fun as the person standing next to you but your boss will appreciate you more for it and in the long term you again will reap the benefits of this isolation policy.
FILO Method
This simple term is used to teach second year students studying cost and management accounting a basic principle. First in, last out. When working this should be your approach but when working in a bar this should be your motto. The only other person who will use the same method as you will be your boss. This gives you time to show him youâre reliable, dependent and responsible. If nothing more you will have a glowing reference letter when you leave your job. Never underestimate the need for good relations with past employers as their reference might be the reason you never got the new job you've been eying.

Numerous people don't know what precisely a cover letter is and why it is very good to write one? A resume cover letter is usually sent with a job application to offerbackground info, and also to present your interest in the specificjob. A cover letter should show the employer that you have a special background that is just what the company needs, and convinces the recruiting officer to call you for an interview.
Simply because of its specific nature, a cover letter shouldbe always created in accordance with the job opening and the company you are applying to. There are companies that ask applicants to add a cover letter to the resume. Writing a resume cover letter is not only another thing that's to be checked: it gives an invaluable opportunity to explain how you would benefit and how the company would gain from your work.
As you are making the cover letter, you must be careful to spell the name of the company director or anyone is likely to receive the job application correctly. Certainly not address the letter with "To whom it may concern" or "Dear Sir or Madam". You should discover the correct name, title and address of the individual who receives the application. Take care to supply a correct salutation, i.e. Dr., Mrs., Ms. Mr. followed by the last name.
You must never forget to give your full return address with a working cell phone number. Your resume cover letter also needs to have a proper closing, and a signature. Always use a basic and readable font: Arial and Times New Roman are the most common fonts, and these tend to be a good choice. Be consistent with the indentations, tabs and margins: should you indent the first line of one paragraph, you must indent the first line of every other paragraph.
Never re-state the items you referenced in your resume: the employer will examine your resume anyway, so he is fully aware of all the facts about your career. Instead, the reason of a resume cover letter is to convince the hiring officer that you are specifically the person the company is looking for.
NeVer use simple conditions: sentences like "I am always looking for new challenges" doesn't really say anything about why you want that particular job. Challenging has different descriptions for different people. Instead, you can write about your personal determination to do the job you are trying to get.

Creating A Bartender Resume Online
Posted: Mar 16, 2010 |Comments: 0

Using the internet to post your bartender resume is now a commonly used strategy by individuals who are looking for that high-paying bartending job. Unfortunately, posting your resume online will not get you an instant response. Your goal is to capture the attention of employers who you want to apply for. Here are some ways to do just that:
1. Keywords and Contents of your Resume
When Bar Managers are looking for an employee on the web, they usually used a search tool (such as Google) Now, to help yourself appear on the first page of the list, you should used a proper keyword that is most likely search by employers about your job capabilities and skills. Try to use a list of your skills in a bulleted list such "FLAIR Bartender Expert", "Proficient Alcohol Mixer", etc...
2. Create a Marketing Strategy for yourself.
Make it easy to the employers to read about your qualifications for the job by using a summary of your abilities of doing the bartending job.
3. Be Clear and Straight to the Point
You don't have to put all of your work experiences in different fields of the job where you have been. Just list a few that are most relavant to a bartender, chances are, you will appear on the search results when an employer will search for your experience. Employers want to see your resume on a one page that is briefly and concisely constructed.
4. Determine your Results
Bartending employers will likely to see some proof as to how well you can perform they job they are offering. They usually looked at your experience. However little or extensive your experiences, you will get hired when you properly determine the "Duties and Responsibilities" from your previous job and accomplishments. Make those duties RELEVANT!
5. Appeal Visually
There are resume directories that offers you to fill up a forms where you can easily input your skills and experiences and automatically create your resume. If your resume doesn't look good to you, try to use those resume wizard creators that has been offered by the resume directories. If you are confident with your own customized and created resume, I would prefer that you will use to upload it than using the offered one.
6. Action Verbs User
There are tons of Action Verbs listed by categories and can be searched on google. Use them on your bartender resume's Experience list and on your cover letter. Some sample of action verbs are, "Formulated","Provided","Approved"...etc.
7. Don't put Negative Information
Would you ever like your bartender resume rejected? Never! So Never state any negative information about your previous job, why did you got laid off, why you resigned. Don't mention personal problems and the salary you need or wanted to received. You can choose to tell it on the interview. Your bartender resume is created to get you that interview, not getting you ignored.
8. Update your bartender resume regularly.
Are you practicing a lot more on flair tricks and alcoholic drinks mixing for a few days and acquired new skills? Would you not love to update your resume for those accomplishments? Updating your resume in your contact information is also necessary. You need to have an attentive contact information that will respond from coming bartender interviews.

Being a good bartender is easy, being an educated bartender takes hours of practice and parrot learning. Being able to make a drink a customer will ask for no matter how strange the drink may be is what will separate you from the rest of the crowd. With so many drinks on the market how does one go about learning and more importantly trying to remember so many drinks what to a sane individual would all be the same. Begin with a pen and paper!
There’s a reason why bartenders are considered to be such high risk personal to cover by insurance companies, because we are! The truth is we are not sane people; we are an individual who thrive under pressure and that’s why every drink is unique. Ask a barman to recommend a drink and a 45minuite conversation will ensue about strength, texture, color and even the bitterness of the respective drink being scrutinized.
With all these recipes that you can learn none will be as effective as creating your own. Entering the night life with intent to build a career from it will only further advance your career if you create your own drinks. An example of this is in Bloemfontein, South Africa. Jager bombs are common drink through out the world. Being Jagermeister in a shot glass placed in a tumbler glass. The tumbler glass is then filled to the rim of the tot glass with a fizzy energy drink. A bartender created the budget bomb. The budget bomb follows the same principle but instead of Jagermeister they use cheap brandy. He also replaced the energy drink with a local beer.
There is however a standard, one that most barmen should know or at lest have a list in case they don't remember.
Alabama Slammer
30ml Amaretto
30ml Southern comfort
1 dash lemon juice
Directions
Mix the Amaretto and southern comfort in a mixing jar filled with ice. Pour in a chilled cocktail glass. Add dash of lemon juice to the cocktail glass, stir and serve.
American Beauty

1 table spoon of grenadine
15ml Vermouth (Dry)
15ml Brandy
1 splash crème de Menthe (White)
1 dash port
Directions
Pour all ingredients in mixing jar with ice and shake. Pour contents into a cocktail glass and add the dash of port at the end.
Bahama Mama
1 dash Amaretto
1 dash Grenadine
60ml Pineapple juice
60ml Rum
2ml Sugar syrup
1 slice of pineapple
1 quarter apple
Directions
Mix fruit first and blend according to texture desired. Then add all contents to the blender and mix accordingly. Pour drink over crushed ice and serve with cherry garnish.
Bloody Mary
30ml vodka
1 dash Tabasco sauce
1 dash lemon juice
1 dash Worcestershire sauce
120ml Tomato juice
Salt and Pepper (Depends on customer)
Directions
Pour all the contents into a glass filled with ice. Then stir contents and add tomato juice. Stir again properly. Add salt and pepper as to customer’s discretion.

Does a structured settlement transfer have any advantages
Structured settlements started coming into being during the 1980's, when courts awarded amounts to be paid to plaintiffs and the person charged with this amount could not afford the entire lump sum immediately. Then, the structured settlement was born, where this lump sum would be paid of in a particular schedule of time. This included weekly, monthly or yearly payments depending on the contract signed between the two people in the legal action.
