RI Restaurant Jobs, Restaurant Jobs available now in Rhode Island

The Rhode Island restaurant industry is hurting because of the lousy economy. Many Rhode Islanders lost a lot of their net worth when the stock market crashed. Some Rhode Islanders hit retirement age and were forced to cash out their IRA's after it lost much of its value.

There are also many other factors that created this perfect economic storm in Rhode Island and elsewhere around the country. Many of these people were regular diners and patrons at local Rhode Island restaurants until this happened. Ask any waiter at any restaurant in Rhode Island and they will all say the same thing. Many regular patrons have disappeared while other don't dine out as much. Losing half your net worth overnight will do that to a person.

I spent 35 years in the Rhode Island restaurant business. I started out washing dishes in my Grandparents restaurant near Rocky Point Park in Warwick. From there I worked my way up the culinary ladder to become opening chef at some nice restaurants like the former Adesso California Cafe, Cafe Nuovo, Raphaels's Bar Risto. I also chefed at The Clarke Cooke House & Candy Store Grille in Newport among others.

I never made a great income as a Rhode Island Chef, but I loved what I did, so that was all that mattered to me. That was until I saw the light.

I am no longer a chef except for at home. I have left the business after discovering the dream job. I was reading an article from a Rhode Island Chef online that changed my life.

The article caught my eye because it seemed genuine. After reading his article and some thought, I followed his advice and joined WAU to learn some new skills.

I make over six figures working from home and would never dream of going back into the hot kitchen. I now enjoy dining at Rhode Island restaurants instead of sweating my butt off in them.

My hat is off to all of my fellow colleagues in the Rhode Island Hospitality Industry.

I hope you all make it through this tough time without losing everything you own. I was almost their and managed to pull myself back from the brink. If it wasn't for one of my fellow Rhode Island chefs advise I would have never found WAU.
